Installation of new pastor at Saint Anthony Church

Fr. Juan Victor Heredia Fr. Juan Victor Heredia On Sunday, August 30, Bishop Raymundo Peña will be in Raymondville to celebrate the Mass of Installation of Fr. Juan Victor Heredia, a native from Mexico City and a Priest for the Diocese of Brownsville, as the new Pastor of Saint Anthony Catholic Church (464 S. First St.). Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church at 8 a.m.

Fr. Juan Victor came to the USA in 1986; he completed his priestly formation at Sacred Heart School of Theology in Hales Corners, WI and was ordained to the Priesthood on February 2, 2001 by the late Bishop John J. Fitzpatrick. Before coming to St. Anthony - Raymondville, Fr. Juan Victor (as he likes to be called) served this Diocese of Brownsville as Parochial Vicar at St. Paul in Mission and at St. Anthony in Harlingen; as Pastor at Sacred Heart in Escobares and at St. Luke in Brownsville. For the last seven years Fr. Juan Victor served as the Rector of the St. Joseph and St. Peter Seminary in Mission and as Director of Seminarians for the Diocese of Brownsville.

On July 10, 2009 Bishop Raymundo Peña appointed Fr. Juan Victor as the new Pastor of St. Anthony Parish for a term of six years.
