LA SARA, TX - Alberto Salazar, Sr. entered peacefully into rest at his residence surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 18, 2011. He was born at El Toro Ranch near San Perlita on December 1, 1939 to Esteban and Eva Salazar.

He was preceded in death by his father, Esteban Salazar, and mother, Eva De La Garza Salazar.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Lupita, and his children, Alberto (Susan) Salazar, Jr., Aida (Frank) Cantu, Melissa (Rolando) Anzaldua, Brenda (Tony) Perez; six grandchildren, Jessica, Olivia ( David), Frank Thomas, Daniel, Cristian, Aliyah and three great grandchildren, Derek, Sonny, David Jr. He is also survived by his nine siblings, Delia, Martha, Otila, Gloria, Olga, Pedro, Diana, David and Janie.

He was a member of the LaSara School Board for 30 years, and was in a proud partnership to S&S Farms Produce for 35 years. He was also a member of the Lions Club for many years and an active member of the Nueva Vida Pentecostal Church.

He was a dedicated and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He is and forever will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation was held and started on Monday, September 19, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home from 8 a.m. -9p.m.witha7p.m.prayerservice. Funeral service was conducted Tuesday, Deptember 20, 2011 at United Methodist Church at 10 a.m., 192 South 3rd Street, Raymondville, TX (across from Duddlesten Funeral Home), interment followed at the LaSara Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Salome Saenz, Abel Cavazos, Bobby Chapa, Rey Ramirez, Dana Kiefer and Lupe Salazar.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
