ARTHUR BUSH

Arthur J. “Joe” Bush, age 80, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013, at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown, South Dakota.

Funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg with Father Ken Koster officiating. Music was furnished by Anastasia Bush, Marissa and Dylan Mickelson as vocalists and Eileen Lindner as organist.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Scripture service and rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the church in Kranzburg. Visitation continued on Thursday, June 13, prior to services at the church.

Burial was held at the Holy Rosary Church Cemetery, Kranzburg.

Pallbearers were William Bush, Dylan Mickelson, Jesse Bush, Tim Bush, Artie Bush and Mark Ziegler.

Arthur Joseph Bush was born on Jan. 19, 1933, to Arthur C. and Josephine A. (Becker) Bush in Harlingen. He attended school in Raymondville and and graduated from Raymondville High School. Joe was employed at the ASC office and farmed.

He married Mariette M. “Etta” Spartz on Oct. 26, 1963, in Kranzburg and the couple lived in Raymondville until 1966 when they moved to Watertown. Joe was employed at Spartz Implement, buying the business in 1977. He also farmed south of Kranzburg.

Joe was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, past president and snowmobiler of the year of the Watertown Snowmobile Club and the S.D. State Snowmobile Association. He looked forward to Sundays, at Bullhead lake with family and barbecuing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Etta; his sister, Mary; and his brothers-in-law, Ray Wymore and Jim Thiewes.

Joe is survived by his sons, Timothy Bush of Watertown, Thomas (Jody) Bush of Kranzburg and Arthur Jon Bush of Watertown; his daughters, Catherine (Gilbert) Mickelson of Herreid and Carey Sue (Mark) Ziegler of Watertown; two sisters, Charlotte Wymore and Patricia (Dickie) Busse of Raymondville; one brother, William (Judy) Bush of Sinton, TX; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one on the way.
