Garcia gets 2 years in prison for multiple offenses

Pedro Garcia Pedro Garcia The Willacy County District Attorney’s Office announced that Pedro Garcia, 28, of Raymondville, TX, was found guilty and sentenced to 1 year in state jail for Evading Arrest With a Motor Vehicle, 2 years in prison for Tampering With Evidence, and 1 year in prison for Possession of a Controlled Substance. On May 10, 2010, Raymondville Police were dispatched in reference to the defendant wanting to fight another person outside of a residence on West Durham. Officers arrived at the scene and the defendant fled in a motor vehicle. The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed and refused to stop. The vehicle crashed and the defendant exited the vehicle and was apprehended. While the defendant was under arrest, the defendant attempted to destroy marihuana in his possession. On March 27, 2009, DPS conducted a traffic stop on the defendant. During the traffic stop, a search of the defendant located a plastic bag of cocaine weighing .06 grams. The District Attorney’s Office would like to thank the Raymondville Police Department and Texas Highway Patrol for their participation in this case. The case was prosecuted by District Attorney Bernard Ammerman and Border Prosecutor Jeremy SoRelle.
