257 county seniors to graduate this week

More than 250 seniors from the four high schools in Willacy County will graduate on Friday and Saturday.

Two ceremonies will be held simultaneously on Friday. One is at Raymondville and the other at San Perlita school district as each will have their own commencement at 7 p.m.

Some 120 Raymondville high school seniors will get their diplomas at Burnett Stadium and 22 others will be doing so at the San Perlita gymnasium.

In Lyford, the school district will have its ceremony at 8 p.m. Friday at Bulldog Stadium.

The only ceremony to be held on a different day will be at the Lasara school district, which is set to start at 4 p.m. Saturday in the school gym.

Twenty one students will graduate there.

In Raymondville, the valedictorian is Frank A. Cardona and the salutatorian is Kandy M. Morua.

In Lyford, 89 seniors will graduate Friday. The 2016 class valedictorian is John N. Rivera and the salutatorian is Victoria Burns.

San Perlita high school will graduate 22 seniors. The valedictorian is Justine Nyquist and the salutatorian is Mia Maurer.

The 2016 Lasara class valedictorian is Juan Angel Huitron and the salutatorian is Katelyn Buse.
