PERFECTO OROZCO

RAYMONDVILLE - Perfecto Orozco, 82, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at home in Raymondville. He was born on September 27, 1934, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Perfecto and Paola (Tristan) Orozco.

Papo was a loyal, humble, hardworking man. He spent his early years working as a cowboy locally and on North Texas ranches. He also worked in carpentry and out of state as a migrant worker. He then became an employee of Raymondville ISD’s maintenance department, where he worked tirelessly and devoted until he retired after 22 years of service. Never being one to take it easy, he felt retired life was not for him and decided to go back to work at RISD on a part-time basis.

Papo is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Juana Castillo and Paola Castillo; and brothers Federico, Estevan, Santiago, and Juan.

He was married to the love of his life Maria (Castillo) for 64 years. She survives him, along with daughters, Ventura (Jesus) Sanchez of Raymondville, Mary Lou (Baudelio) Rueda of Highlands, TX; sons, Pedro (Juanita) of Lasara, Perfecto “Beto” Jr (Diana†) of Raymondville, Jesse (Velma) of Raymondville, Joe (Kemly) of Baytown, TX, Maribel (Rick) Huerta, and Jaime (Nikki) Montemayor of Raymondville. He was a beloved grandfather to 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Ausencia Rubalcaba and Mauro Orozco; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 9:00AM till 9:00 PM with a holy rosary recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass was celebrated on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church. A funeral procession followed to his final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Jaime Montemayor, Beto Orozco III, Robert Orozco, Jerry Sanchez, JJ Orozco, Dante Hernandez, and Rick Huerta.

The family would like to thank Merida Health Care group, especially Rebecca; LVN, Marisol; CNA and LaVonda; Chaplain for their services and support.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring hands of Good Shepherd Funeral Home. 1157 W. Hidalgo Raymondville, TX.
