Veterans’ Day events being held across Willacy

Veterans’ Day falls on Sunday, November 11 though activities to commemorate Veterans’ Day begin at 8:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Raymondville High School with a breakfast for veterans.

Patriotic presentations begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Raymondville High School gymnasium, said George Solis, post commander of American Legion Post 390.

At 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a veterans’ breakfast will be held at San Perlita High School with patriotic presentations at 8:30 a.m. in the gymnasium.

At 12:30 p.m. Thursday, a meal for veterans will be held in the Lasara community building across the street from the high school, Solis said.

At 1:30 p.m. Thursday, patriotic presentations will be held in the Lasara High School gymnasium.

At 9:30 a.m. Friday, the largest Veterans Day program in the Rio Grande Valley will be held in the Lyford Bulldog Stadium.

A luncheon for veterans will follow the program at the school gymnasium, Solis said.

Post 390 Legionnaires will offer a Prisoner of War-Missing In Action program at the Raymondville, San Perlita and Lasara programs, Solis said.
